Specialised Prenatal and Postnatal Courses

yogababy will be conducting a series of workshops during 2010-2012 for certified yoga teachers and teachers in-training. 

Safe practices during pregnancy

This workshop aims to teach practices that a pregnant woman can safely do during a general class.  Covers anatomy of the pelvis; stages of pregnancy; complications during pregnancy;contra-indicators for pregnancy and modifications for safe practice.

Weekend workshop:  4th and 5th September, 2010

Cost: $330 (inc GST)

Pre-requisite : Certified yoga teacher or in-training, personal trainers and fitness professionals

Level one: Teaching Yoga Asana for pregnancy - 31st July, 2011

Level two: Specialising in Pregnancy yoga  - 12-13^th March, 22-23^rd October 2011

Level three: Teaching yoga to the postnatal woman  - 4-5^th June 2011

Level four: Specialising in Yoga for babies – 13-14^th August 2011

Level five: Teaching Active Birth – 12-13^th November 2011

Level six: Specialising in Active Birth Yoga – 25-16th Feb 2012

Certification as a specialised prenatal and/or postnatal yoga teacher will require completion of all levels of training (170+hours).

yogababy's specialised teacher training courses are facilitated and taught by Suzanne Swan (B A, PostGrad Psychology, Dip Transpersonal Psychology, Dip Yoga for Pregnancy and Active Birth, Aware Parenting instructor).  She has been teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga classes, active birth and parenting workshops since 1999.  In the last six years, she has run an apprentice style prenatal yoga teacher training and conducted postnatal teacher training courses.  As well as training yoga teachers she leads workshops for health professionals, physiotherapists, childbirth educators, doulas and midwives. She is recognised as a Senior Level teacher with Yoga Teachers Association of Australia and is a member of the National Association of Childbirth Educators.
