What is Mummy & Me Yoga advanced?
The advanced Mummy and Me yoga class is an extension of our beginners classes. The class is for active crawlers to two years old and their mums. The yoga taught in these classes is more active than the beginners class but still a blend of yoga with your young one and for yourself. You can attend these classes without being a prior student of the Mummy & Me yoga beginners classes.
How are the active crawlers to early walkers involved?
The classes include special activities to bond with your child and connect with other mothers. After yoga for your child, there is time for yoga for you, followed by singing and time throughout the class for the children to socialise together. The classes are child-centred. When your child is upset our policy is for you to attend to their needs either breastfeeding, feeding, holding or generally reassuring them in your presence. With the support of others, you will be able to develop a balance betwen doing yoga for yourself and meeting the needs of your child. It is possible!
What are the benefits of Mummy & Me Yoga advanced?
• Increased ability to handle difficult and confronting situations with a reduction in anxiety and stress.
• Increase in abdominal and pelvic floor stability thereby reducing back pain.
• Overall enhanced well-being and emotional stability.
• It's a time to have fun with your child and make friends.
When can I start and how long can I continue?
Mums and children come into this class at or after active crawling. If you have attended the beginner classes, you will be offered a place in the Mummy and Me advanced classes when it is time to move on. Children can attend until they are two years old. You can attend these classes even if your child has not attended the earlier beginner classes. You can also attend these classes up to 24 weeks pregnant after which we recommend you attend the Active Birth Yoga classes on your own to prepare you for the birth.
