Yoga Immersion and Life Skills Training

For Yoga teaching certification and specialisation in Women's Health

Starting July 2010, the ‘Yoga Immersion’ Training will be run over a two-year period (440+ contact hours and 100+ self study). Four to six students will have the opportunity to study specifically with yoga mentor, Suzanne Swan.  You will also participate in lectures and technique classes & workshops with Jamie Denham and Tamara James (yogaphsio).

The course is run over four semesters: 8 x 10 week terms.   The course allows you to do general yoga studies as well as specialise in women's issues.  Preconception, pregnancy, active birth and postnatal yoga are covered  throughout the two years with a focus on self development in applying yoga in your life.

A proportion of the contact hours are lecture and class based in a group of between 12 and  20.  The other 1/4 contact hours are in smaller tutorial/ mentoring groups (4 – 6 students). We recognise that while acquisition of knowledge can take place in larger groups, smaller groups better support the self development that is most beneficial in application of yoga in life.

yogababy's specialised teacher training courses are facilitated and taught by Suzanne Swan (B A, PostGrad Psychology, Dip Transpersonal Psychology, Dip Yoga for Pregnancy and Active Birth, Aware Parenting instructor).  She has been teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga classes, active birth and parenting workshops since 1999.  In the last six years, she has run an apprentice style prenatal yoga teacher training and conducted postnatal teacher training courses.  As well as training yoga teachers she leads workshops for health professionals, physiotherapists, childbirth educators, doulas and midwives.
