How our Active Birth Workshops Build Confidence and Calm
Feeling confident and calm during birth starts with understanding your options and knowing how to support your body and mind through the process.
That’s where childbirth education makes such a difference. When you and your partner understand the stages of labour, common interventions, and how to use your Active Birth tools, you’re better equipped to meet each moment with clarity and confidence.
At Yogababy, our childbirth education workshops integrate practical skills such as:
Breathing techniques to calm the nervous system and keep oxygen flowing to you and your baby.
Massage and touch to encourage relaxation and connection between you and your birth partner.
Active Birthing positions that help labour progress naturally and comfortably — standing, squatting, rocking, or moving with your body’s rhythm.
These skills don’t just prepare you for birth — they nurture trust in your body, your baby, and your ability to make informed choices.
At Yogababy, we offer two childbirth education options designed to help you feel:
Informed – understand what’s happening and why.
Confident – trust yourself and your care team.
Connected – approach birth as a team with your partner.
Knowledge doesn’t remove uncertainty, but it gives you tools to meet it with calm and courage.
With preparation and practice, you can step into your birth feeling centred, strong, and supported.
We offer two main types of workshops:
Pregnancy & Active Birth Workshop – A half‑day class (e.g., Saturday 12pm‑4pm) combining prenatal yoga and active birth techniques, designed for expectant women in their 2nd or 3rd trimester. Covered topics include labour preparation yoga, active birthing positions (standing, squatting, lunging, all fours, resting postures), breathing and relaxation for labour management, visualisation & vocalisation, and optimal baby positioning.
Couples Active Birth Workshop – A full‑day session (e.g., Sunday 10am‑5pm) for the pregnant person and their support partner, aiming to team‑up for birth. They learn to work together with the birthing person, practice hands‑on techniques, and explore how to support each other through labour decisions and body‑based strategies.
These workshops are a way to bring your body, your partner, and your birth vision into alignment — not just with theory, but with living, practical experience. They give you the space to rehearse movement, shifts of position, breath, and communication before the day arrives.
