Over the past few months, I have been working with Jessica & Anna from Baroona Physio to help Hayley, a Yogababy student who has been experiencing pain during her pregnancy. Combining Physiotherapy & Yoga has helped her to find more freedom in movement and pleasure in her pregnancy. Here is her story.
Suzanne has just returned from the National CAPEA (Childbirth & Parenting Education Australia) Conference in Melbourne where she presented Active Birth Skills to Midwives from across Australia.
Read MoreI couldn’t attend any other antenatal classes, so I relied on the information I received in your classes, from my midwife and from the book Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering. I researched enough to have an "ideal birth intention" written down in bullet points on a page (not a "plan" as nothing ever goes to plan!).

In early 2000 when I was studying Childbirth Education & Prenatal Yoga with Jane Campbell-Kaye in Brisbane, I travelled to South America to help my bestfriend, Anja Light, bring Pacha into the world - at her home in the mountains of Ecuador. I taught her yoga techniques to stay peaceful and relaxed during labour.
Read MoreI felt calm about it all and was able to resolve any feelings of disappointment before hand. I think your classes were invaluable. Any learning/knowledge about the body and pregnancy prior to birth is so helpful.

Read MoreI am sharing another birth story with you today. Sometimes, babies give their mamas the gift of self belief. Read on to find out how baby Finley did just that as told by Yogababy mama Marielle:
My plan was to have an epidural on arrival. When the midwife monitored me, she asked me , do you want the good news or the bad news? I said bad first. She said, your birth plan is out the window, it’s too late for an epidural, you are fully dilated, you are having this baby now. What she also said that was really powerful was that you need to believe in yourself right now that you can have this baby without the epidural, it’s too late. You need to focus all of your energy on pushing, and push the pain away.
